It is used for contraception in women at childbearing age.
[ Product Introduction ]
The product is composed of two silica gel rods, 4.4cm long, 2.4mm in diameter, containing 75mg Levonorgestrel. Implanted subcutaneously in arms of subjects, this product can achieve long-term contraceptive effect (4 years) with its slow drug release.

[Pharmacological effect]
Levonorgestrel (LNG) is a fully synthetic potent progesterone, which mainly acts on the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. It can significantly reduce or disappear the peak of mid-menstrual follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). The ovaries do not ovulate, and have obvious anti-estrogen activity.It thickens the cervical mucus and prevents sperm from penetrating.The endometrial transformation shows strong progesterone activity, can make the endometrial thin, endometrial epithelial cells are low columnar, poor secretion function, is not conducive to the implantation of pregnant eggs.Levonorgestrel also has certain androgen activity and protein assimilation effect, which can inhibit ovulation by oral or subcutaneous injection.
